Off to Port Douglas

Grace had church camp today so while Raquel took her we finished packing.  When she got
back we headed to the train station.  With directions in hand we found our way to the airport.  All went well.  Then the new adventure began.  We picked up our rented car and Marty drove the hour north to Port Douglas.

We drove along the coast and spotted a "herd" of wallabies.  Since turning around and getting a picture was not an option we just waved at them  It was a lovely drive.

We arrived at our hotel and discovered they had no record of us.  After waiting for half and hour they gave us an upgrade.  We went to the room, dropped our luggage and went to search for Jim and Cynthia Kenyon.

They were waiting for us at their hotel.  How great to see such great friends so far from home.  They had found a great restaurant and we had a meal of seafood and pork and enjooyed each others company.  We then returned to our room.  Upon entering we discovered sugar ants everywhere.  We mean everywhere - on the counters, floor and in the BED!!  As this is being written we are waiting for this issue to be resolved.  Oh the adventures of traveling in the tropics..
