Back to Sea

February 4, 2013 - Today was a cruise day.  Jim and Dale had a Rotary meeting and 3 people in addition to themselves showed up.  One was a couple from Sydney (Ryde) and the other from near Brisbane.  They had a nice time getting to know each other.  Today is "Super Bowl Sunday" even though it is Monday here.  The ship showed the game at noon and they served hot dogs, chips & dip and popcorn.  The guys went to the game and it took them all afternoon since the game was delayed over 35 minutes even though they saw none of the USA commercials.  Marty and Cynthia went pool side - it was cool and the sun came and went, but it was nice to just do nothing.  The day was very windy and it was something to see the waves.  This was formal night and dinner was quick as we were invited to a Top Tier party.  Drinks and dancing was had by all.  The show featured singer Michel Bell who ahd spent 8 years as a lead on Broadway.  He had an amazing voice and very deep.  He sang "Ole Man River" and it was almost hymnal.

Jim and Cynthia in their finery.

Dale and Marty thinking their are in Egypt!!  The ship is decorated and outfitted with art work in an Egyptian theme although there were also Greek and Renaissance art- marble sculptures, and wall art.  The ship has $11 million in art paintings (including fresco), marble sculpture from Italy, contemporary art hangings, etc.
