Rainy Days in many ways - Jan. 27

We are back online after two weeks with no internet.  We did miss it and all of  you.  Read this as if these were the actual days.  Today is Sunday, January 27, 2013 and everyone got up early to head for Hillsong Church-except Marty.  Her cough, sore throat and headache had kind of peaked.  So she stayed home while everyone else went to church.  When they all got home, she was feeling a little better..  The Kenyons and Ports packed up their belongings and Josh took us all to the train station.  We said our good-byes and it was hard, but knowing we would see them in 2 weeks made it easier.  We had no trouble with the train and got to Circular Quay.  We had to use the lift due to all our luggage as we were literally stepping into the lift 2 grandmothers with their 3 grandchildren shoved us aside and got in before us - we stood there with our mouths open.  When we got ready to get off the lift they started to push forward.  Dale had to block them like he was on the football field so we could get off.  EVERY other Australian we have met has been more than wonderful.  Then in the rain we walked several blocks to the ship, dropped off our luggage and then went to check-in.  At this point Kenyons realized they did not have their passports.  They were somewhere in their luggage that was being sent to board the ship.  Cynthia had a couple of heart attacks, but they found their luggage and their passports.  All was well and we loved our cabins on deck 10 with our balconies.  All is good.
Our ship "Voyager of the Seas"... largest ship in the world when built in 1999.  We grabbed a bit (not bite) to eat and started touring.  Lots of pictures were taken.

One more... and more to come of this icon.

Harbour Bridge.

Dinner was at 6:00; our table mates are 4 Australians.  They are 2 sisters - one with her husband and they are from the Gold Coast and the other sister is with their mum.  They live in Newcastle.  Their mum was born in Poland and immigrated to Australia when she was 30.  This was her first cruise since coming over; she thought ships have changed alot!  She speaks very little English plus is hard of hearing and has poor eyesight and a wonderful lady.  Her daughters speak and translated for her.

The food decorations on the ship.

After dinner and before leaving.

Ready to leave what has to be the prettiest harbor in the world.

Opera House at night

At 10:30 there was a very colorful, energetic parade on the Royal Promenade.  The costumes were so wonderful.  We stopped for a cup of tea and then we realized we were moving.  We were to head out at 11:59, but we left early.  By the time we got on deck we were all ready out to sea.  This is the roughest seas we have ever been in, but we got rocked to sleep.  Even though a rainy day, another good one.
